Affordable Housing Project

Project Overview:

Our current project is in collaboration with Block N’ Lock, a company specializing in innovative interlocking block designs to provide affordable housing options for the city of Orlando and hopefully the entire US. We have been tasked with 3D printing their unique block design to create a detailed model of a duplex house.

Project Goals:

• Utilize advanced 3D printing technology to produce accurate and durable interlocking blocks.

• Assemble the blocks to construct a precise and scaled model of a duplex house.

• Showcase the potential of Block N’ Lock’s design in real-world applications.

Process:

• Design and Planning: We started by carefully reviewing the specifications and blueprints provided by Block N’ Lock. Our team collaborated to ensure we understood every detail of the interlocking mechanism and overall design.

• 3D Printing: Using our club’s brand new 3D printer, we are currently in the process of printing each block with high precision. This step involves rigorous quality checks to ensure each block meets the required standards.

• Assembly: Once all the blocks are printed, we will move on to the assembly phase, where we will construct the duplex model. This stage will demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of Block N’ Lock’s interlocking block system.

• Final Presentation: The completed model will be presented to Block N’ Lock, showcasing our club’s capability to handle complex projects and provide tangible solutions.
